Peter gave us so much time and energy into our reshaping our backyard. He cut into our hill to create a flat yard while also installing a beautiful natural looking boulder wall and landscaped too. He spent many hours sending us ideas and kept us up to date constantly on his progress. He was always very transparent and surely over-delivered in the end. "We purchased our home from Peter Switzer, Pleasant View Construction, in 2010. We set our eyes on the property and knew we couldn’t live without it. It truly is one of the most beautiful homes in all of St. Louis. The house is newer, yet built to have the look and feel of a true old English manor. Each area was given so much attention – with nothing to be missed. From the quality of the stone masonry to the hand-hewn, custom-stained walnut floors and the custom hand-forged ironwork (throughout the inside and outside of the home) to the stone fireplaces with breathtaking hearths – there was no stone left unturned or short-changed.
"Peter and his team not only crafted every inch of this masterpiece, they also meticulously landscaped the property, giving it the look and feel of an English countryside estate. We changed nothing in this home – nor do we plan on doing so! The unique structure and creativity put into our residence is something that you just cannot find anywhere. Our pool area is a sight to be seen – from a custom stone waterfall and hidden slide to a beautiful rock grotto. It leaves us with the best pool around – just ask all the kids!

We contacted Peter at Pleasant View Construction to help us solve some complicated water flow issues around our home, and to replace our driveway. Because the water flow issue and driveway were interrelated, we needed to work with someone who understood the complexities and interdependencies involved, and then could design and implement a cost-effective solution. Peter addressed both issues with a fresh approach that was wonderfully designed, and through his intimate knowledge of our city, was able to get us plugged into an available program from the city to assist with the water flow issues. No other contractor offered the insights or comprehensive solution that Peter provided. As an added bonus, because Peter has such a keen sense of design, we gave him creative license to design a driveway that would be pleasing to the eye and practical. The end result is fantastic, and exceeded our expectations. Our experience with Peter is that he is creative, has an excellent eye for design and detail, and is able to get projects done that exceed expectations. "Peter has a unique combination of creativity and knowledge. He gets just as excited as his clients once the ideas start coming, and we start envisioning the possibilities. I do not know much about the construction side of things, and often, other people I’ve worked with in that field ask too many questions I don’t have the answers for.
